    How to rotate buttons(button animation) using wpf xaml asp.net

    Posted by james on July 14, 2010 Leave a comment (5) Go to comments

    Introduction:
    In this article,i am going to explain about how to rotate a button
    using wpf and xaml.

    Main:
    The style element helps us to define a global style throughout the xaml page.

    The style declaration consists of a Style object that contains a collection of one or more Setter objects.
    Each Setter consists of a Property and a Value. The property is the name of the property of the element the
    style is to apply to. After the style is declared as a resource, it can then be referenced just like any other
    resource.

    Trigger objects have the Setters, EnterActions, and ExitActions properties that apply changes or actions based
    on the state of certain properties, while EventTrigger objects start a set of Actions when a specified routed
    event occurs.

    See the below simple examble,

    <Window x:Class="NetProgrammingHelp.Button"
        xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
        xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
        Title="Button" Height="300" Width="300"
        >
      <Window.Resources>

        <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}">
          <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Center"></Setter>
          <Setter Property="RenderTransformOrigin" Value="0.5,0.5"></Setter>
          <Setter Property="Padding" Value="20,15"></Setter>
          <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2"></Setter>
          <Setter Property="RenderTransform">
            <Setter.Value>
              <RotateTransform></RotateTransform>
            </Setter.Value>
          </Setter>
          <Style.Triggers>
            <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Button.MouseEnter">
              <EventTrigger.Actions>
                <BeginStoryboard Name="rotateStoryboardBegin">
                  <Storyboard>
                    <DoubleAnimation Storyboard.TargetProperty="RenderTransform.Angle"
                     To="360" Duration="0:0:0.8" RepeatBehavior="Forever"></DoubleAnimation>
                  </Storyboard>
                </BeginStoryboard>
              </EventTrigger.Actions>
            </EventTrigger>
            <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Button.MouseLeave">
              <EventTrigger.Actions>
               <!-- <RemoveStoryboard BeginStoryboardName="rotateStoryboardBegin"></RemoveStoryboard> -->
                <BeginStoryboard>
                  <Storyboard>
                    <DoubleAnimation Storyboard.TargetProperty="RenderTransform.Angle"
                       Duration="0:0:0.2"></DoubleAnimation>
                  </Storyboard>
                </BeginStoryboard>
              </EventTrigger.Actions>
            </EventTrigger>
          </Style.Triggers>
        </Style>

      </Window.Resources>
      <StackPanel Margin="5" Button.Click="cmd_Clicked">
        <Button>small</Button>
        <Button>big</Button>
        <Button>medium</Button>
        <Button>medium large</Button>
      </StackPanel>
    </Window>

    animation

    Conclusion:
    Hope this helps,
    Happy Coding.
